Case Study – Victorian Cricket and Community Centre

In 2018, St Kilda’s iconic Junction Oval underwent a $40 million development. The state-of-the-art facility is a year-round elite training base for Victoria’s best cricketers as well as a hub for community cricket. The facility boasts a total of 56 indoor and outdoor practice wickets, male and female change rooms, as well as medical and rehabilitation facilities including a gym and indoor aquatic centre.

Ceramic Solutions are privileged to have worked on this great project for Cricket Victoria. As part of the rehabilitation facility, an indoor aquatic centre was installed utilising Chroma wall tiles and Plural Unglazed sand white tiles for the concourse.

Plural Unglazed is a new product by German manufacturer, Agrob Buchtal. The tile series is available in a variety of formats (2.5 x 2.5 cm, 5 x 5 cm, 10 x 10 cm ,15 x 15 cm, 20 x 20 cm and 30 x 30 cm) including coved skirting pieces. The Victorian Cricket and Community Centre opted for the 10 x 10 cm format, which allowed the pool concourse to achieve a slip resistance rating of R11/C. The Plural Unglazed range is also available in ten different colours, making the design possibilities endless!

Ceramic Solutions were honoured to have worked on the redevelopment of the Victorian Cricket and Community Centre. There’s no doubt the state-of-the-art facility will be a great hub for all cricket lovers for decades to come!
